Who owns and operates this directory

This site is owned and operated by Helou Holdings Pty Ltd. Our featured partner, SOCIALFUEL, is affiliated with Helou Holdings. Featured placements are commercial, always labelled, and never influence which agencies appear in the editorial list or their order. We built this directory because the "best web designers Melbourne" search is dominated by thin self-rankings and generic mega-directories — there was no honest, curated, local shortlist. We disclose this on every page.

How the list is ordered

The 26-agency editorial list is ordered on two editorial signals, in this priority:

1. Established, multi-decade agencies first. Studios with a long, verifiable track record in the Melbourne market lead the list, ordered by how long they've been operating.
2. Then by breadth. Remaining agencies are ordered by the breadth of platforms and services they credibly cover — a rough proxy for the range of projects they can take on.

This is an editorial judgement, not a paid ranking. No agency in the editorial list can pay to move up, and position in the list is not for sale.

Selection criteria

To be included in the editorial shortlist, an agency needs to:

• Be a genuine web design or web development agency with a real Melbourne presence (office or clearly Melbourne-based team).
• Have a live, professional web presence and a demonstrable body of client work.
• Offer web design and/or development as a core service — not as an incidental add-on.

What this list is — and isn't

• It is a curated, independent starting point for finding a capable Melbourne web design agency.
• It is not exhaustive. Melbourne has many excellent agencies we haven't listed. Omission isn't a judgement — the list is a shortlist by design, and it grows over time.
• It is not pay-for-placement. The editorial ordering is independent of any commercial relationship.

Commercial placements, always labelled

The Featured Partner card at the top of the directory is a commercial placement for SOCIALFUEL, which is affiliated with the site's owner, Helou Holdings Pty Ltd. It sits in a visually distinct card, is labelled "Featured Partner", and is separated from the editorial list — SOCIALFUEL is never presented as objectively "#1" within the shortlist. This is the single commercial placement on the site, and it is disclosed on the card, in the footer of every page, and here.

If we ever sell featured placements to other agencies in future, they will be labelled with the same clarity. We will never disguise a paid placement as an editorial ranking.

Ratings and reviews

We display a Google rating only where it is publicly available for that agency, shown as plain text (for example, a 4.9★ or 5.0★ Google rating). We do not fabricate ratings, aggregate reviews we didn't collect, or add rating schema markup to profiles. Where no public rating is shown, we simply don't display one.

How we get our information

Listing details — location, platforms, services, founding year, team size — are compiled from publicly available sources such as each agency's own website. We aim for accuracy, but details change.

Corrections & free removal

If you run one of the listed agencies and something is wrong — or you'd simply prefer not to be listed — email [email protected]. We will correct or remove your listing for free, promptly, and with no questions asked.

How matching works
